Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase a subscription, or use the Service. The Yoga Teacher Companion is designed as a professional educational and teacher-development resource for yoga teachers and other qualified adult movement professionals who choose to use it within their own professional scope.

Your account is for your individual use only. Accounts are single-user, non-transferable, and may not be shared with another person. You may not allow another person to access the Service using your login credentials or use another person’s account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your login credentials and for activity conducted through your account. Please notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

The Yoga Teacher Companion is offered as a recurring subscription service. Unless otherwise clearly stated at the time of purchase, your subscription will automatically renew at the applicable subscription interval until you cancel it. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize our payment processor to charge the payment method associated with your account for recurring subscription fees and applicable taxes.

Current pricing and billing terms will be displayed before you complete your purchase. We may change subscription pricing in the future. Any price change affecting an existing subscription will be communicated in advance and will apply prospectively as permitted by applicable law.

You may cancel your subscription at any time using the subscription-management tools provided through your account. Cancellation stops future automatic renewals. Unless otherwise required by law, canceling your subscription does not immediately terminate access. You may continue using the Service through the end of the billing period for which you have already paid. After that paid period ends, subscription access will expire unless you resubscribe.

We will not require you to contact us, provide a reason for cancellation, or complete an unnecessarily burdensome process to stop future recurring charges.

Subscription payments are non-refundable once processed, except where a refund is required by applicable law. Canceling a subscription prevents future renewal charges but does not generate a refund or prorated refund for time remaining in the current billing period.

We may, at our discretion, correct duplicate charges, billing errors, or other payment-processing mistakes. Doing so does not create a general right to refunds.

The Yoga Teacher Companion is an educational and professional-development tool designed to support teacher reasoning and decision-making. The Service may help users explore topics such as:

• cueing and communication;
• class sequencing and progression;
• movement observations;
• modifications and teaching options;
• class experiences and teaching challenges;
• student variability;
• professional reasoning; and
• other topics related to yoga teaching and movement education.

The Service is intended to function as a thinking partner—not an oracle or substitute for professional judgment. The Yoga Teacher Companion may present more than one reasonable teaching approach. Individual variation, teaching context, student experience, teacher observation, and professional judgment remain relevant to teaching decisions. The existence of an AI-generated suggestion does not mean that suggestion is appropriate for every teacher, student, class, circumstance, or individual.

The Yoga Teacher Companion is designed to help teachers think critically about their teaching decisions. It is not designed or intended to function as an individual student assessment, diagnostic system, medical record system, or clinical decision-making tool. The Service does not determine or diagnose the cause of a student’s pain, symptoms, injury, medical condition, mental-health condition, behavior, anatomical variation, or movement pattern. You should use observations about students as information to support appropriate teaching decisions rather than treating AI-generated interpretations as established facts about an individual.

You agree to provide only the information reasonably necessary for The Yoga Teacher Companion to respond to your teaching question. Do not submit unnecessary personally identifying, confidential, or sensitive information about students or other third parties. For example, you should not provide student names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, identifiable medical records, account information, or other information that is unnecessary to discuss the teaching situation. Whenever reasonably possible, describe students anonymously—for example, “a student in my class” rather than identifying that individual by name. You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit to the Service is information you have the right to provide.

The Yoga Teacher Companion uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. Artificial-intelligence systems can produce information that is inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, or inappropriate for a particular situation. Although the Service is designed with educational frameworks, safeguards, and instructions intended to support thoughtful yoga teaching, we do not guarantee that every response will be accurate or appropriate.

You remain responsible for evaluating AI-generated information and deciding whether and how to apply it. Use of the Service does not transfer your professional responsibility as a teacher to OmBodies Yoga, The Yoga Teacher Companion, or any artificial-intelligence provider involved in operating the Service.

The Yoga Teacher Companion does not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, physical therapy, psychotherapy, mental-health treatment, emergency services, or other licensed healthcare services. Information generated by the Service is educational and is not a substitute for evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Teachers remain responsible for working within their own education, credentials, professional scope, and applicable laws and regulations. When a situation reasonably calls for evaluation or care outside a teacher’s scope, the appropriate action may be to refer the student to a qualified professional. The Service should not be relied upon to evaluate or respond to medical emergencies. In an emergency, contact appropriate emergency services.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• violate applicable law or the rights of another person;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity;
• submit information you do not have the right to provide;
• intentionally compromise another person’s privacy;
• interfere with the operation or security of the Service;
• circumvent access restrictions or security controls;
• gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, databases, prompts, or administrative functions;
• introduce malicious software or otherwise attempt to damage the Service;
• use automated means to scrape, harvest, systematically extract, or reproduce Service content;
• share, sell, sublicense, or transfer your account;
• use the Service to create or operate a substantially competing product through unauthorized extraction or reproduction of our proprietary materials; or
• use the Service in any other manner that materially violates these Terms.

The Yoga Teacher Companion and its proprietary components are owned by OmBodies Yoga and/or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. This includes, as applicable, original branding, logos, software, interface elements, written educational materials, proprietary teaching frameworks and methodologies, prompt architecture, system instructions, original content, product organization, and other protected elements of the Service.

Your subscription gives you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for your own teaching, education, and professional development while your subscription remains active. Your subscription does not transfer ownership of the Service or its proprietary materials to you.

You may not, except as permitted by law:

• copy or reproduce substantial portions of the Service;
• systematically extract Service content;
• scrape or harvest responses or other materials;
• attempt to obtain, reconstruct, reveal, or reproduce proprietary system prompts or system instructions;
• reverse engineer the Service;
• remove or alter proprietary notices;
• resell or redistribute access to the Service;
• represent proprietary Service materials as your own educational product;
• create unauthorized derivative commercial products substantially reproducing protected Service materials; or
• use unauthorized extraction of our proprietary materials, prompts, or system architecture to develop or train a competing product or service.

Nothing in these Terms claims ownership over yoga itself, generally known teaching principles, public-domain information, ideas that are not legally protectable, or material you independently develop without copying protected elements of the Service.

You retain any ownership rights you have in original content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you authorize us and the service providers necessary to operate The Yoga Teacher Companion to process that content for purposes including providing the Service, generating responses, maintaining conversation history, securing and troubleshooting the Service, and otherwise operating the product as described in our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the right to submit the content you provide.

The Yoga Teacher Companion exists to support your work as a teacher. Subject to these Terms, you may use, adapt, take notes from, and apply individual AI-generated suggestions in your own teaching and professional practice. For example, you may use a suggested cue, experiment with a progression, consider a modification, or incorporate an educational concept into your teaching.

This permission does not authorize systematic extraction, reproduction, resale, publication, or repackaging of substantial portions of The Yoga Teacher Companion or its proprietary educational materials as a competing product, teacher training, database, AI system, or commercial resource.

We may update, improve, modify, replace, add, or remove features of The Yoga Teacher Companion as the Service evolves. Because artificial-intelligence technology and the third-party services supporting it change over time, particular features, models, functionality, or outputs may also change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Service. Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, updates, technical failures, security issues, third-party outages, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We reserve the right to discontinue The Yoga Teacher Companion. When reasonably practicable, we will provide existing subscribers with advance notice of a planned discontinuation. We will not knowingly continue charging subscription fees for future periods during which we do not intend to provide the Service.

If we permanently discontinue the Service during a billing period for which you have already paid and cannot provide access through the remainder of that paid period, we will provide an appropriate prorated refund or credit for the unavailable portion.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service when we reasonably believe a user has materially violated these Terms, compromised Service security, shared or resold account access, engaged in unlawful activity, attempted unauthorized extraction or reproduction of proprietary materials, or otherwise seriously misused the Service. Serious violations may result in immediate termination without continued access through the remainder of the billing period.

To the extent permitted by law, termination for a material violation of these Terms does not entitle the user to a refund. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual-property protections and applicable limitations of liability—will survive.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely accurate, or suitable for every individual teaching circumstance. We do not guarantee any particular teaching, professional, business, health, or student outcome from use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OmBodies Yoga and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to use of, or inability to use, the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to us for The Yoga Teacher Companion during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless OmBodies Yoga and its owners, officers, employees, and contractors from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your material violation of these Terms, or your infringement or violation of another person’s rights. This provision does not require you to indemnify us for conduct for which indemnification cannot lawfully be required.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

We may update these Terms from time to time as the Service, technology, business, or applicable legal requirements change. When changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice as appropriate under the circumstances and applicable law. The effective date at the top of these Terms will identify the current version. Where applicable law requires affirmative consent to a change, we will request that consent.

If a provision of these Terms is determined to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. Our failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive our right to enforce that provision later.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly presented and accepted in connection with a particular subscription or feature, constitute the agreement between you and OmBodies Yoga regarding use of The Yoga Teacher Companion.
