Sometimes you don't need another training.
You need someone to think it through with you.

  • 01

You finished class and something felt off.

  • 02

You're staring at tomorrow's sequence wondering whether the progression actually makes sense.

  • 03

You've used the same cue for ten years and suddenly you're wondering, “Wait. Is that actually true?”

  • 04

A student responds in a way you weren't expecting.

  • 05

Or maybe you just want someone to challenge your thinking before you walk into the room.

That's what The Yoga Teacher Companion is for.

Meet the tools

Four ways to think out loud, built for the questions teachers actually have.

01

WTF Happened?

Work through the moments from class that left you wondering what happened, what you observed, what might have contributed, and what you could explore differently next time.

A thoughtful post-class debrief, not a diagnostic tool.

02

Cue Clinic

Bring a cue you're using or considering. Examine what it is actually asking the student to do, what assumptions may be embedded in it, and whether there may be clearer or more adaptable ways to communicate the intention.

Your words, examined on purpose.

03

Sequence Critique

Pressure-test sequences, progressions, transitions, preparation, and movement demands before teaching them.

Beyond whether a sequence looks good: does the preparation logically support what students will eventually be asked to do?

Pressure Test Me

Don't just ask for an answer.
Pressure-test your thinking.

The Yoga Teacher Companion should not simply tell teachers what to think.

Pressure Test Me challenges assumptions, asks questions, introduces alternative possibilities, and helps teachers examine the reasoning behind their choices.

The purpose is to strengthen critical thinking and teaching judgment—not create dependency on an AI tool.

How the Companion thinks

Built to help you think like a teacher—not follow a formula.

  1. 01Observe
  2. 02Ask
  3. 03Modify
  4. 04Reassess
  5. 05Refer
  • Distinguish observation from assumption.
  • Explore possibilities without pretending there is one certain explanation.
  • Consider individual variation.
  • Prepare students for the demands of movement rather than simply chasing shapes.
  • Modify intentionally.
  • Reassess what changes.
  • Recognize when something belongs outside a yoga teacher's scope and referral may be appropriate.

The Companion does not diagnose injuries or medical conditions, and it isn't built to. It helps you reason about what you observed and what you might explore next.

Why this Companion is different

This isn't generic AI wearing yoga pants.

The Yoga Teacher Companion was built around the teaching methodology developed through more than two decades of yoga teaching, teacher education, sequencing, progression-building, observation, cueing, movement education, and real-world classroom experience.

The methodology emphasizes critical thinking over rigid rules, individual variation over universal alignment claims, and teaching the student in front of you rather than forcing every body into the same answer.

  • Care about why they're teaching something, not just what they're teaching
  • Want to build smarter progressions
  • Want to examine and refine their cueing
  • Encounter unexpected moments in real classes
  • Value individual variation
  • Want to continue developing after teacher training ends
  • Appreciate having their thinking challenged rather than simply validated

FAQ

Questions teachers ask first.

Is The Yoga Teacher Companion a course?

No. There are no modules, no lessons to complete, and nothing to finish. It's a thinking space you bring your real teaching questions to, whenever they come up.

Is this the same as using a general AI chatbot?

No. It was built around a specific teaching methodology, with instructions to reason like a teacher educator: separate what you observed from what you assumed, hold more than one possibility, and stay inside a yoga teacher's scope.

Can it diagnose an injury or tell me what is medically wrong with a student?

No, and it isn't built to try. It can help you think about what you observed and what you might explore next, including recognizing when something belongs outside a yoga teacher's scope and referral may be appropriate.

Do I need to be a member of The Yoga Teacher Collective to use it?

No. The Companion is available on its own for $29/month. Active Collective members can access it as an add-on at $19/month.

I'm an experienced teacher. Is this still for me?

Yes. Most of what it's good at — examining long-held cues, pressure-testing progressions, working through unexpected moments — is more useful the more teaching history you bring to it.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancellation is handled in your account, electronically. No email, no phone call, no reason required.

What happens to my access when I cancel?

You keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for, and your account shows the exact end date. See the Subscription, Billing & Cancellation page for full details.
